Although the Hron River is now regulated by small hydroelectric power plants, in the Tekov Region you can still find places worth paddling. The calm waters of the river are especially pleasant for families with small children or less experienced paddlers and beginners.
You can combine water tourism with caravanning or cycling trips along the Pohronská Magistrale. The home port, or rather boathouse, is provided by the water camp in Jur nad Hronom. Take advantage of the option to rent boats or rafts and enjoy the picturesque nooks of the Hron River directly from the water’s surface.
